How to Order
Ordering fresh bread online, to be delivered to your door, is really very easy. We like it that way...
Some of our items, like our cakes and pies, may not be shipped. They are simply too delicate to stand up to the shipping handlers, not to mention that they just don't like to be warm for 2-3 days. For this reason, as you proceed through the checkout, you may notice a few oddities. If you order anything that cannot be shipped, you will only see "I will pick up my order", rather than the option of shipping items together or separate. Your order, should items be baked on separate days, will be ready on the last baking day of the items in your cart.
First, select a category of bread or pastry on the left. You'll see a list of all the treats in that category. Just click on one, and you'll see when it is next baked and can be shipped to you. If you decide to add it to your bread basket, you'll see the contents of your basket appear, where you can tell us how many loaves you want. Remember, shipping gets less expensive (per loaf) with more bread, and our breads freeze exceptionally well.
When you have added all the breads and pastries you want delivered, just click "Check Out", and it will ask you for your billing and shipping information. Part of that will be an option to have us hold your order, if they are baked on separate days, and ship everything together. That option is already checked, since that will save you money, but, if you decide you want your first loaves shipped sooner, just uncheck that box, and we'll take care of it from there. Note also that breads are shipped unsliced unless you check the box asking that the bread be sliced.
Shipping is via the US Postal Service, either priority or express mail. Priority mail is available in five zones around our bakery in Burlington. We group the closest three together and ship to them for $4.60 plus $0.44 per pound. This area includes most of New England and nearby parts of NY. Zone 4 reaches out to parts of Ohio and down to Virgina and costs $9.00 plus $0.40 per pound. Zone 5 costs $11.00 plus $0.60 per pound and reaches down to Georgia and out to Wisconsin and Illinois. Beyond that we ship via Express Mail (two days by air) at a cost of $20 plus $2.30 per pound. We add 15% to the shipping bill for handling. When you view the cart (or bread basket, as we say) you will see shipping costs for the entire order shipped on a single day. We only ship on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

When you finish checking out, you'll see a receipt, and a copy of that receipt will have been emailed to the address you provide. You should know that we do not share, sell or trade your contact information with anybody.
